WOMEN’S RIGHTS AGAINST VIOLENCE: ISSUES AND TRENDS

Abstract

Human rights remain inalienable to all mankind irrespective of their race,
gender, class, geography among other considerations. Biological difference
remains the only distinction between men and women. The conceptual
analysis of human rights and the nature of these rights, legal frameworks for
the protection of women’s rights, human rights of women and their
derogations and notable issues and trends in women’s right are also examined
in this paper. Various protectionist measures both by way of statutory
safeguards and women advocacy groups are equally the focus of this paper.
Suggestions have also been made to explore better ways of protecting the
enforcement of women’s human rights in order to accord women the
opportunity to contribute their quota towards the development of humanity at
all levels.
