2024 CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS
PROCEEDINGS OF THE SECOND CONFERENCE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PRIVATE AND PROPERTY LAW FACULTY OF LAW RIVERS STATE UNIVERSITY
Theme: Contemporary Issues in Private and Property Law in Nigeria
Date: Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th of June 2024
The second conference of the Department of Private and Property Law with the theme: Contemporary Issues in Private and Property Law in Nigeria held at the Dr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike auditorium, Rivers State University on the 5th and 6th days of June 2024. 6 papers were presented. On the first day of the conference, 297 persons (excluding students) were in attendance, and on the second day of the conference, 133 persons (excluding students) were in attendance.
A welcome address was delivered by Prof Grace Akolokwu, Head, Department of Private and Property Law. The conference was declared open by its Chairman, Hon Justice Adolphus Enebeli (Rtd) DSSRS, Retired Judge of the Rivers State High Court and Chairman, of Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC). The keynote address was delivered by Prof Mike Ozekhome, SAN, CON, OFR, FCIArb represented by Dr FC Amadi. Goodwill messages were received from:
- Prof CC Wigwe, SAN, Dean, Faculty of Law;
- Prof N.S Okogbule, Vice Chancellor, Rivers State University;
- Hon Justice Mary Ukaego Peter-Odili, CFR, Justice of the Supreme Court (Rtd) and
- the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Hon Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi represented by Hon Justice Kio Daketima, Judge of the High Court of Rivers State.
