Abstract

This article discussed the protection of women workers under the Nigeria labour law. No
doubt, women are very important members of every society. Records shows that a number of
female folks has in every era broken records of excellence in innovative administration and
management. Discrimination against women is inherent in Africa especially in Nigeria and
hence the need to protect their rights in the workplace. Women in the work setting suffer from
discriminatory practices, unequal training and employment opportunities, promotion and
benefits, restriction on reproductive rights, and wage parity. There are various legislations
bordering on the protection of women's rights. This article highlighted some sections of these
laws, and their limitations. The article clarified some concepts such as protection, women,
women workers, women's right, and labour. The laws regulating the rights of women workers
in Nigeria were also highlighted. The article terminated its discussion with some
recommendations.
