Abstract

This article examines the international legal framework on the right to strike and its position in Nigerian law. The article considers the various international conventions and treaties which are applicable in Nigeria and how the right to strike is protected therein. The article argues that while some labor laws are in line with international labor conventions, the right to strike is still not adequately protected in Nigerian law. The article concludes by proposing that Nigerian labor laws should be further amended in order to bring them in line with international labor standards.
